COMMENT: The entire plant above ground can be boiled. Leaves are more preferable; young and tender the meristem stage even better. Add to stews.

NUTRITION/MEDICINAL: Demulcent; Poultice.(1) The family Molluginaceae has been studied for its therapeutic enduing characteristics due to the production of Triterpene sapanonins and Flavonoids. Research has shown that acetic acid extracted from M. verticillata could be a potential immunomodulator. The chemical makeup in members of the Molluginaceae family in general have anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.(1)
